Lupini, Ph.D., P.Eng.
President and CEO
Founder
Peter
Lupini received a B.A.Sc. degree from the University
of British Columbia in 1985, and a
Ph.D. degree from Simon Fraser University
in 1995, all in electrical engineering. From 1982 to 1990, he worked at
MacDonald Dettwiler as an analyst, developing algorithms for the remote
sensing industry. His doctoral work focused on low bit rate compression of
speech for digital cellular telephony. Between 1995 and 2005, Peter worked
at IVL Technologies, Ltd. in Victoria, British Columbia. As manager
of the IVL research team, he directed work on understanding and modeling
the human voice production mechanism, with applications to voice
transformation and vocal enhancement.
Glen
Rutledge, Ph.D.
Vice President of Research
Founder
Glen
Rutledge received a B.Sc. degree in Physics from McMaster University in 1992, an M.Sc.
degree in Astrophysics from the University of Victoria in 1994, and a Ph.D.
degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Victoria in 2000. During his doctoral studies, he investigated the use of
wavelet packet pattern recognition techniques for environmental sound
analysis and discrimination. Through the support of an NSERC
Industrial Research Fellowship awarded in 2000, he was able to collaborate
with IVL Technologies Ltd. to investigate the application of these same
techniques for the analysis of speech signals. While working with the IVL
Research Group, he was involved with the development of a wide variety of
voice processing technologies, and in 2002, he joined TC-Helicon Vocal
Technologies (at the time, a joint venture between IVL and TC Electronic) to refine and implement
these algorithms for products targeted at the professional audio
market.
Norm Campbell, P.Eng.
Vice President of Development
Founder
Norm Campbell received his
B.A.Sc. degree (in Electrical Engineering) in 1976. He spent 20 years
working in the Remote Sensing industry, starting with digital hardware
design and eventually moving into system design, software design, and
digital signal processing. Since 1999 he has been working in the audio industry,
specializing in digital signal processing, embedded operating systems,
firmware implementation and optimization. This experience is complemented
by a musical background spanning 40 years.
